A Gym in the Woods
What is a Utegym? Founded in Sweden a utegym is an outdoor workout area. The all-weather construction of its exercise machines somewhat modeled on playground equipment. The intent is to have a circuit workout area were runners can jog the course and then have several stations to work high rep workouts. Anyone using the equipment may add additional weight to their workout by placing 5 and 15 pound bricks located to the side of each station. Our SLXC Shoe Tree Utegym is comprised of six pieces of equipment. Each are included in the map below. Each equipment will be outside of the xc trail on higher ground so maintenance will be a minimal, water should not be an issue in these locations. All equipment will be treated for the weather and have natural finish to maintain the environment.
The Utegym is open to the public! During this time of social distancing this is a perfect opportunity for you to outside and get your workouts without worry. We hope to see you out on the course and Utegym, SLXC welcomes you!
